North Rose, NY/Sunrise Cay, Naples, Fl.:  Passed away May 1, 2016 in Naples, Florida at age 88. Al was born May 10, 1927 in Rochester, New York and was the only child of Alfred J. Miller and Teresa A. Miller. He was an Aquinas High School and a St. Bonaventure University graduate. He proudly served our Nation during WW II in the US Navy, enlisting at age 17 in the Pacific Theater on LSM 494 of the Amphibious fleet. Al loved sports including baseball and football in high school and later enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, golf. He was an avid sailor on his boat “Harmony” and his motor cruiser “LUV-N-IT”, expertly plying the waters of Lake Ontario, Canada and the 1000 Islands as our Captain Al. He was a long time parishioner at St. Helen and Church of the Epiphany where he significantly enriched the parish by creating and managing their investments. Al continued the exemplary legacy of his father as the owner of the Alfred H Miller Accounting Firm in Rochester where he provided outstanding financial services and advice to many loyal clients for over 50 years. Upon his retirement in 1995, Al’s legacy continued into the 3rd generation with his son David.

Al was a dedicated caregiver providing years of compassionate care to his second wife, Patricia M (Feidner) Miller. He was a generous contributor to many charitable organizations including Meals on Wheels, Wayne County Migrant Workers, the Lions Club, a South American family hosting program and a proud member of the Wolcott American Legion, Post 88, Kiwanis and others.

Dad was the ultimate people person who loved spending time and partying with his many other adopted "families" and communities of friends including Sodus Bay Yacht Club (SBYC), Aquinas, St. Bonaventure, Sodus Point, the "Holy Boys" (and "Girl"), Belvedere Drive, Firestone Drive and Ann Lee Drive neighbors, Wid-Nik Acres-Black Lake and most recently Sunrise Cay. He had a remarkable memory and could recall specific details about people, places and directions (land and sea) that truly amazed us. Dad had a true gift for making friends and will be dearly missed by all that loved him.

He is preceded by his wife Patricia H (Maid) Miller with whom he had eight children and Patricia M (Feidner) Miller. Al is survived by his eight children and their spouses: Gregory (Bonnie) Miller, Carolyn (Mark) Maxim, David (Joanne) Miller, Sharon (Stephen) Girolmo, Mary (John) Watson, Timothy Miller, Christopher (Suzanne) Miller and Eric Miller; grandchildren: Carissa (Derek) Easter, Jessica (Thomas) Collins, Rebecca (Carmen) Sturniolo, Kirsten Thompson (Sam) Polk, Mark Maxim and Amanda Diehl, Katie Maxim (deceased), Scott (Ashton) Girolmo, Matthew Girolmo; Melissa (Chris) Crawford, Danielle (Luke) Burritt, Katlyn Watson, Andrew (Ashley) Watson, step grandchildren Jonathan (Rabiah) Maxim and Peter (Susie) Maxim; 13 great-grand children and his beloved dog Toby.
