Vernon E. Frost
Williamson/Penn Yan - The family of Vernon E. Frost, a Godly loving husband, father, and grandfather, announces his peaceful passing on December 8, 2025. Though he was known for a dry, quick wit that often made us smile at the most unexpected moments, his greatest legacy was the love he carried for his family.
Born on November 9, 1946, to Vernon H. and C. Arlene Polk-Frost, who preceded him in death, Vern grew into a man of quiet strength, loyalty, and deep compassion. He served his country with honor in Vietnam and spent the rest of his life serving the people he loved even more.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carleen S. Pulver-Frost, who was his constant companion and the center of his world; his beloved children, Korey Frost and Kerry Frost; his stepchildren, Sean McLaughlin, Heather (Michael) Chapman, and Erin (Joshua) Denton; and his cherished grandchildren, Brenden (Tracy) Cole, Brett Cole, Britny Cole, Autumn Frost, Zackorey Frost, Michael Pescini III, Jonathan Pescini, Hailey McLaughlin and Everett, Mackenzie Chapman, Liam Chapman, and Austin Denton, who brought out the softest corners of his heart. Vern is also survived by his loving sister, Caroline Welkley, as well as nieces and nephews. He is reunited in heaven with his daughter, Kelly Frost-Cook, whose memory remained with him each day.
Although he enjoyed offering the occasional sarcastic remark-always with a glint in his eye-his humor was simply an extension of his warmth and the way he connected with others. To know him was to know someone who loved deeply, protected fiercely, and found joy in even the smallest moments.
A celebration of Vern's life will be held on December 20, 2025, at First United Presbyterian Church, 31 W Main St, Sodus, NY, where family and friends are invited to gather to honor a man whose presence made days brighter and whose absence will be deeply felt. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1 p.m., followed by Military Funeral Honors and a reception immediately afterward.
He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and a life story marked by courage, kindness, and a heart that always had room for one more smile and laugh.
Because of Vern's love of children, donations in his memory can be made to Scarlet Thread Ministries, which helps teens in Wayne County build lifelong connections with Christ. 32 Mill St, Sodus, NY 14551.
