Patricia H. Dusett
Loving wife, mother and grandmother; Christian; Adventurous Soul
Patricia Ann (Hollis) Dusett, 84, of Rochester, NY, passed away surrounded by family on March 3, after a brief stay in hospice care.
Pat was born on April 29, 1940 in Olympia Fields (Chicago), IL to Jack and Hazel Hollis. She moved to Penfield, NY as a young child and called Rochester her home. After graduating from Penfield High School in 1958, Pat attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Her close friends and adventurous spirit led to unique journeys like working summers at The Waldheim Camp on Big Moose Lake and driving her convertible on a tour through Europe with a friend.
Pat met William ‘Bill’ Dusett (1939-2021) at church youth camp as a young adult and they married in 1962. They created forever memories in the lakeside hamlet of Pultneyville, NY where they lived for 27 years. Living by the water (her favorite setting), Pat made lifelong friends, raised five children and volunteered with the local T.W.I.G. hospital charity. She was actively involved in the family businesses, often taking on the role of ‘Chief Operating Officer’.
Pat’s great second act was living 23 years in St. Petersburg, FL. There, she made cherished friends through her work and being active as a leader in their beloved Island Chapel church community.
Pat loved home design, decorating and furnishing. Her homes were full of antiques and furniture collected on the tens of thousands of miles of road trips with her steady captain, Bill. Some of her favorite collectibles were Delft blue pottery she began collecting on a trip to Holland. She worked in interior design into her 70’s and took great pride being part of a home décor team that decorated one of the renowned Rochester Homearama homes.
Pat is survived by her children William and Leah (Hrozenchik) Dusett, Paul Dusett, John and Patricia (Paparella) Dusett, Daniel and Theresa (Dudley) Dusett, and Rocco and Danielle (Dusett) Spagnolo and her sister-in-law, Connie (Dusett) Liberto. She is also survived by her many grandchildren; Iric and Katlyn (Gregg) Bressler, Ethan and Grace (Dusett) Hunt, Rocco and Jill (Aria) Spagnolo, Mary Dusett, Luca Spagnolo, Caroline Dusett, Jonathan Dusett and Miles Dusett. Pat’s family also includes four beautiful great-grandchildren, Titus and Jude Hunt, and Emilia and Caleb Bressler. Pat was predeceased by her husband, William Dusett (2021), her grandson, Julian Dusett (2024), her sister, Virginia (Hollis) Rowe (1999), and her brother, Jack Hollis (1995).
Pat’s Celebration of Life service will be held at Clay Jars Christian Fellowship, located at 91 Erie Canal Dr., Rochester, NY on Saturday March, 8 at 11:00am.
