Nancy Lee Phippard

Ithaca, formerly of Pultneyville - Nancy Lee Phippard, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Nancy was born on Saturday, January 7, 1939, in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late John and Mary (McErlean) Phippard. She grew up in West Hempstead and graduated from West Hempstead High School, Class of 1957. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the State University College at Oneonta, graduating in 1961.

Nancy was an elementary teacher by profession. After her marriage, she chose to remain at home to lovingly raise her family. She enjoyed antiquing and reading, and she had a special flair for decorating. Nancy also loved playing cards and, most of all, cherished the time she spent with her family.

Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Carolyn (Tom) Dobie; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Rochford; her grandchildren, Sarah Dobie, Sean Ponton, Casandra (Sam) Martinez, Zachary Rochford, and Mackenzie Rochford; her great-grandchildren, Bentley Ponton and Carter Martinez; her brother, Jack (Sandra) Phippard; her nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend, Michael Hochheiser.

Nancy was predeceased by the father of her children, Robert Rochford; her son, John Rochford, whom she rejoined on his birthday; and her brother, Larry Phippard.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Pultneyville Cemetery, Lake Road, Pultneyville, New York.
