Nancy L Bardo
Marion - Nancy Lee (Nevlezer) Bardo, 88, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
In keeping with her family's wishes, there will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1767 Plank Rd, Webster, NY 14580. A reception will follow at the church hall. Interment will be in Marion Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Nancy was born on January 16, 1937, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Rowena Nevlezer. She was a graduate of Marion Central School and attended college at Geneseo and Cobleskill. Nancy's faith carried her through her life. She was a long-time member of the Williamson Presbyterian Church. Devotion to her family gave Nancy the most enjoyment in life. She loved being a wife, mother, grandma, and friend. Nothing brought a bigger smile to Nancy's face than when family and friends walked into her home. Nancy had a spirited personality. She was a devoted baseball fan, always cheering for the Yankees. She enjoyed a friendly game of Euchre and hosting holiday picnics at the Bardo home.
Although mainly a stay-at-home Mom, for years she was also known as the "Avon Lady" to many in the Marion and Williamson area. Through the years, Nancy and Elwin's home hosted 38 foster children and two foreign exchange students. Each was treated with love as if they were their own children.
Nancy is lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Elwin; daughters, Gwendolyn Bastedo and Kymberly Martin; son, Scott Bardo; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and bonus daughter Lindsay Brown Laws.
Nancy was predeceased by her brother Larry Nevlezer.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Thompson Hospital and Wayne County Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided to Nancy.
Instead of flowers, contributions to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1767 Plank Rd, Webster, NY 14580, or Golisano's Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
