Joyce Marie Nuessle

Williamson, NY – Joyce Marie Nuessle, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on October 6, 2021 after a brief illness. 

Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband, Lowell “Pete” Nuessle in 2016 after 63 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by her parents Arthur and Neva Graupner, and sister Lois. 

Joyce is survived by her two sons Gregg (Doreen) and Gary (Amy), grandchildren Brendan (Lisa), Alanna, Taylor and Madison, as well as step-grandchildren Dustin, Jasmine and Tristen Scutt. 

Joyce was born and raised in Independence, Missouri and studied to be a teacher at Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg, where she met Pete, the love of her life. Joyce and Pete were married in Kansas City, MO on October 3, 1953. After Pete returned home from military service, the couple moved to Amherst, NY where Joyce was a homemaker and raised their two boys. In 1999 Joyce and Pete moved to Venice, FL where they enjoyed their retirement home and community. They loved to travel and explore the world, spend time with friends and cheer for their favorite sports teams, the Sabres and Bills! Joyce was a high member of PEO International and an avid Bridge player. Following the passing of her husband, Joyce moved to Williamson where she lived with her son Gary. In her final years, Joyce made many new friends and became especially fond of her loving caregivers, Tonya, Pam, Emmy, Jazzie, Makayla, Sue and Jamie, to all of whom her family will be eternally grateful.

A celebration of life will be observed on Sunday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. in The Imperial Lounge at Diamonds Seven Event Venue, 3877 North Main Street, Marion, NY. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.
