Sodus: Age 93, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2021.
Predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Anna Mae Gilley; son: Joe Joe Gilley; daughter: Annie Gilley; grandsons: James Smith, Jr. and Clinton McCants; great grandson: Joshua Battle.
Joe is survived by loving children: Gloria (Leo) Battle, Rose Mary (Mack) Cobbs, Ernestine (Sam) McCants, Barbara (James) Smith, Joseph (Gwen) Gilley, Pauline (James) Babers, Larry (Deester) Gilley, James Isreal, and Mae Anna and Mary Gilley; 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister: Hattie Mae Golden; best friend: Henry Lee Blue; many extended family members and numerous friends.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Private burial in Sodus Rural Cemetery, Sodus, NY.
