Horst A. Merkl
Williamson: Entered into rest peacefully on August 27, 2024.
Predeceased by his parents: Josef and Martha (Dorst) Merkl; sister: Helga (Daniel) Haak.
Horst proudly served in the German Army and was dedicated to the Civil Air Patrol here in the United States. His passion was being the Lion Tamer and traveling worldwide with several circuses.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 18 years, Patricia DeWinde; children: Marion (Johan) Rehle; step children: Robbin (William) Smith, Patricia (Gary) Piccarreto, Jeffrey Martin; (9) grandchildren; (15) great grandchildren; brother: Adam (Erika) Dorst; many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Horst’s life will be held on (Monday) September 9, 2024 at 11am at the Grace Ridge Church: 4984 Ridge Road, Williamson, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Horst can be made to the Grace Ridge Church.
