Ella Neverless Obituary

Ella M Neverless

Ella Josephine Miller Neverless, age 94, passed away on December 27, 2025. Ella was born on March 7, 1931, in Sodus Point, New York, to George and Laura Miller.

Ella attended Sodus High School and graduated in 1948. She was a long-time employee of Farm Credit and also managed the accounts for the Neverless Brothers fruit farms.

A lifelong golfer and traveler, along with her husband Fay, she enjoyed many winters in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, where they seldom missed a sunset cocktail hour with their Canadian friends.

Ella was an avid Syracuse basketball fan, and we all knew not to call during the Yankees game unless it was in between innings. Ella attended many Yankees games with her granddaughter, Katie, and Katie's husband, Todd, throughout the country well into her 80s.

After retirement, and Fay's passing, Ella volunteered at Literacy Volunteers and the Sodus Bay Lighthouse. She played Mahjong, dominoes, did daily crossword puzzles in pen, exercised with Silver Sneakers, and attended many plays in Auburn. She also traveled to many places and continued to spend winters in Indian Rocks Beach until 2014. Spending time with her family is truly what she enjoyed the most and was grateful to have had many years with them.

Ella was predeceased by her husband, Fay; half-brother, Charles (Ruth) Sampson; brothers, Bob (Bev) and George Miller; sister, Dora (Rod) Ludwig; and brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Neverless.

She is survived by her three daughters, Marcia (Dan) Bilancini, Nancy Neverless Allison, and Elaine (Dr. Benjamin) Gelber. In addition to her daughters, she is also survived by her five grandchildren, Katie (Todd) Bilancini-Hardy, Michael (Brynn) Bilancini, Judy Gelber (Whitney Gent), Nate Gelber, and Joe (Kristen) Gelber; and eight great-grandchildren, Lillian and Ella Hardy; Christopher, Nicholas, and Colton Bilancini; and Grace, Teddy, and Arnie Gelber. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sandra (Ronald) Buerman; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on January 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church, 31 West Main Street, Sodus, New York. There will be a private burial in the spring for the family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Sodus Bay Lighthouse, P.O. Box 94, Sodus Point, New York 14555, in Ella's memory.

Ella will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
