Eleanor J. DeFisher “Ellie”

Williamson:  Went home to her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2024 at age 82.

Predeceased by her parents: Pete and Cora Sonneville; grandson: Clayton J. DeFisher.

Ellie was raised in and graduated from Marion, NY.  She started as a hospital candy striper at the age of 14 years old at Myers Hospital. This was the start of her nursing career as an LPN.  Ellie loved working in the nursery taking care of the babies and developing many friendships throughout her career.

She enjoyed feeding and watching her birds every day, and was known as the “bird lady.”  Ellie had a love for baking, gardening, and mowing her lawn.  She and Bill enjoyed various adventures and traveling excursions.  Ellie was a kind, caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She had a love for the Lord and had a wonderful church family.  We look forward to seeing her again one day in Heaven.

Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Bill; children: Deb Allen, David (Christine) DeFisher, Diane Reid, and Dawn DeFisher-Swarthout (Mike); grandchildren: Jacob and Kaylyn Allen, Luke, Kimberly and Elizabeth DeFisher, Andrew and Zachary Reid, William, Daniel, and Zoey Swarthout; (8) great grandchildren; sister: Elaine (Carl) VanCamp; many extended family members and numerous friends.

A Remembrance Service celebrating Ellie’s life will be held on (Saturday) October 5, 2024 at 10am at the Williamson Bible Baptist Church.  Private burial held at Lake View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Ellie can be made to the Williamson Bible Baptist Church, 6463 Salmon Creek Road, Williamson, NY  14589.
