Sodus Point - Edward Renner, 87, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Young Funeral Home, 4025 Ridge Road, Williamson, NY 14589. Edward's memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edward was born the son of the late Leo and Marjorie (Gallagher) Renner on Wednesday, May 4, 1938 in Cincinnati, OH. Edward graduated from Purcell High School with the Class of 1956. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1956 to 1960 at Paris Island. Following his military service, Edward eventually relocated to the greater Rochester area and began a long career with Xerox, where he worked as an electrician and dedicated nearly 40 years before retiring to Cape Coral, Florida. Edward enjoyed sports and recreation, especially rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals as well as the Buffalo Bills! He played softball with the Xerox Recreation League for many years, and also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time by the water. He found great joy in entertaining his family and many friends.

Edward will be remembered by his daughter, Ellen (Michael Sinnott) Thiel, as well as her sister, Amy (Gerald) Esch; his daughter-in-law, Mary Renner; his grandchildren, Shelly (David) Shaeffer, Stacy (Khang) Thai, Hannah (Lawrence) Forte, Kristina (Michael) Yacuzzo, Olivia (Justin) Reho, Jennifer (Joe) Weinschreider, and Jeremy (Melissa) Thiel; as well as his great-grandchildren, Renner, Sheldon, Isabella, Joseph, Julia, Madison, Ethan, and Jack. He is also survived by his sisters, Ann (James) Hellebusch and Eileen Renner; several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Edward was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Renner; son-in-law, Gordon Thiel; great-granddaughter, Rosie Reho; and sisters, Mary Renner and Rose Marie Renner.
