Ontario, N.Y. - Dorothy Mae Jennings, 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
In honor of the family's wishes, all services will remain private. Burial will be at Temple Hill Cemetery, Geneseo, NY.
Dorothy was born in Binghamton, New York, on November 18, 1933, the daughter of the late William and Agnes Collins. She spent her early life in Northeastern Pennsylvania and graduated from Williamson Central High School with the Class of 1952. She went on to build a long and respected career in manufacturing, working most recently for School Pictures, Microtech Machine, and Jrlon. Known for her exceptional attention to detail and steady craftsmanship, she earned the admiration of her coworkers and remained dedicated to her work until retiring at the remarkable age of 86.
She was an accomplished seamstress and talented hand-sewn quiltmaker, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her patience and creativity. A devoted member of Bible Baptist Church in Williamson for more than 60 years, she shared her love of the arts by teaching crafts during Vacation Bible School and joyfully participating in church activities. Her quiet skills, steady faith, and generous spirit touched many throughout her long life. A lifelong cat lover, she was especially fond of her most recent companion, Sunshine.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debra Gosbee and John (Jeanette) Jennings; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Oshima-Jennings; her grandchildren, Fawn Ellis, Jeremy Gosbee, and Peter Gosbee; her great-grandson, Kenneth "KJ" Vail; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Arthur Jennings; her children, William Jennings, Lucinda Jennings, and Charles Jennings; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Gosbee.
