WILLIAMSON: Ray, Donald R.; died on Thursday, November 11, 2021 (VETERANS DAY) at the age of 71. Don passed at his home surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Saturday, November 20 (note date) at the Young Funeral Home, 4025 West Main Street, Williamson. Military honors will be accorded at 6:45pm.      Don was born on July 28, 1950 in Grahamsville, New York the son of Edward Ray and Marlyn Walters. He and the former Suzan Gomer were married on July 30, 1977 in Monticello, NY. They marked 44 years of marriage this past July. Don had served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Williamson American Legion Post where he was active with the Post Honor Guard Rifle Detail. He had been employed for many years by Williamson School District. Don was a tinkerer who could fix anything and was always willing to help others with his mechanical and carpentry skills. He spent many years as a volunteer EMT with Williamson Ambulance. In his spare time Don could be found fishing, hunting or hanging with his friends.

     Don is predeceased by his daughters Melanie Ray and Randi Michelle Ray; his father Edward and his brother William Ray. He is survived by his wife Suzan; mother Marlyn Walters; son Steven Ray; special friend since childhood and fellow veteran Ruben (Deb) Ackerly and many other friends.
