David Leon Spaulding
Lyons: David Leon Spaulding, aged 80, formerly of Summit, NY, passed away October 2, 2024 at the home of his devoted caretaker, Seana Fisher in Lyons, NY. He was born August 1, 1944 to the late Earle and Lillian (Piquet) Spaulding on Long Island, New York. He was a 1962 graduate of Richmondville Central School, participating on the track team, and a 1964 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. David was employed at Xerox in Rochester for 38 years. He loved to travel, play cards, hang out with friends, attend school games, watch wrestling, and eat his snacks: especially his once-a-year soft pretzel and lemonade at the State Fair.
David was a beloved brother and uncle, and is fondly remembered for his made-up songs and reading traditional stories at Christmas to his family with his own personal flair. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Kenneth Mosenthin of Rockwood, NY; two nieces, Sandra (George) Kolva of Karpinsk, Russia and Lara (David) Steidel of Louisville, KY; one nephew, Kevin (Becky) Mosenthin of Port St. Lucie, FL; two great-nieces, one great-nephew, two great-great nephews; special friends and his surrogate family, including Pat Fisher, Seana Fisher, Tim Wright, and Dawn Fisher and their extended family.
A celebration of David's life will be held at later date.
