Palmyra, NY - Charles William Kitson Sr., 82, of Palmyra, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

A memorial service in Jacksonville, Illinois will be announced at a later date.

Charles was born the son of the late Charles Edward and Alma Kitson of Hardin, IL and grew up in Jacksonville, IL. He graduated from Jacksonville High School with the class of 1963.

After high school, Charlie built a long and dedicated career in manufacturing and quality control, working for more than 30 years before retiring. During his career, he was employed by Allis-Chalmers, Anderson Clayton, and Carnation/Nestlé.

Charlie had a deep appreciation for vintage cars and loved spending time at flea markets and antique shops. He enjoyed collecting coins, Hot Wheels, and gas station memorabilia and Pepsi/Cola. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, and little dog Chewy.

Charlie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Sharon Tucker-Kitson; his sons, Charles Jr. (Judy) Kitson of Springfield, Illinois and Carey (Melissa) Kitson of Jacksonville, Illinois; his step-son Jason (Joy) Ward; grandchildren, Zachary (companion, Stephanie) Kitson, Nathan (Libby) Kitson, Brenton (Abbie) Kitson, Drew (fiancé, Mickey) Kitson, Bradley (Mollie Totman) Ward, Jessica (Brady) Giles, Megan (Tim) King, Allison (Noah) Schmitt; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Arlo, Faela, Whysper, Harland, and Emmaline; siblings, Marie Coonen, Nancy Brogdon, Betty Flenniken; many nieces and nephews who knew and loved him as Uncle Bud.

Charlie was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Downes and Dorothy Anders.
