Beatrice Joyce Meyvis
Ontario, NY — Beatrice Joyce Meyvis passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on December 22, 2025.
Beatrice was born on October 12, 1940, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Bernadine M. Waterman and James R. Shaw.
She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved grandson, Bradley S. Meyvis; and her siblings.
Beatrice dedicated many years of her life to working as a bus driver, taking great pride in caring for others and showing up each day with commitment and kindness. She deeply loved her family and expressed that love through baking and quilting, creating comfort, warmth, and cherished memories that will live on for generations. Her gentle spirit and loving presence touched countless lives, and the traditions she nurtured remain part of her enduring legacy.
She is survived by her five children: Richard (Karen) Meyvis, Mark (Pam) Meyvis, Arnold Meyvis, Roy (Lisa) Meyvis, and Mary (Todd) Meyvis-Little; her grandchildren: Holly (Greg) Garritano, Vicki (Ted) Tomporowski, Joseph Meyvis, Jacalyn Meyvis, Katie (Kolby) Bouchard, Ryan Smith, Nicholas Meyvis, Nicole Meyvis, Abigail Meyvis, Brody Meyvis, and Rory Meyvis; ten cherished great-grandchildren; her lifelong friend, Alice Melone; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish / St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 5823 Walworth Road, Ontario, NY 14519. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery.
