Joan Hakes, 86, welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, February 17, 2019. 

Joan was a faithful follower of her Lord, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.  She loved music, sewing, baking, birdwatching, spending time with her family, caring for her husband and their home, reading her Bible, and praying faithfully for all she loved.

Joan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leon, and their 4 children:  Kim Mantz (Dan), Sheri Hart (John), Jeffrey (Caryn Beth) and Pam Riggleman (Jay).  Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, one of whom was there to welcome her when she arrived.  Joan is also survived by her brother, Frank Morgenweck of Middleburgh, NY.

A Service of Celebration will be held on March 2nd at 1:00pm at Bible Baptist Church of Sodus, 6181 Ridge Road, Sodus, NY.  Following the service there will be a time of light refreshments at the church.
