Lowell Earl McCaw

Lowell Earl McCaw died March 29, 2017 while wintering at his family’s Sarasota, Florida home.

He was born April 27, 1933 in Rochester, New York, and grew up with many summer days spent on Lake Ontario.  After playing football for and graduating from Colgate University, he fell in love with and wed Barbara Gordon.  The couple built a home on the lake in Williamson, where they raised their two sons who shared their father’s love for boating and fishing.  Lowell helped to build the Instrumentation department as Professor at Monroe Community College and retired as Professor Emeritus.  He served his country proudly, advancing to Major in the Air Force, and serving also as a Sergeant First Class in the Army Corp of Engineers and retiring as a Major in the US Army.  He was an ordained elder in the Reformed Church of America at Pultneyville Reformed Church, served as a School Board member for Williamson School District, and was an active member of the Instrumentation Society of America/International Society of Automation, for which he served a term as President.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons Scott (Beth) of Dubuque, Iowa, and Neil (Ericka) of Southlake, Texas; grandchildren Bobby, Tim and Evangeline; brother Robert (Joan) of Sarasota, Florida; sisters-in-law Kristine (Derek) Ivy and Jan (John) Galloway; extended family and many good friends.
