Thank you! I appreciate that, Ang. I miss her heaps and heaps. We were lucky to have her. She really enjoyed Moscow and was lucky enough to travel the world before she died. Thanks for reaching out.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of my geography buddy. Jane was an inspiration to me in all our workshops together. I swear the woman could make a geography lesson out of a piece of construction paper. She developed so many great lessons...the New York State cookie lesson, her lesson on immigration, the "place" T-shirts she always wore to start a presentation, her scads of earrings. We had many many laughs together. Please know how many hundreds of students she influenced as teachers across the state (and country) went back from a convention or a workshop or an institute she presented at and brought her lessons to them. My condolences to all of you.

Les and Jane's Family:
It was with great sorrow and sadness that I learned of Jane's passing. To say that she was a wonderful lady is an understatement. I admired her teaching expertise, her leadership qualities, and her inclusive demeanor. When we had social functions she always made my wife feel comfortable and welcome. All of us have lost one of earth's angels. May God Bless.

I send my dearest sympathies to the families of this beautiful loving lady.
Mrs. Buell was one special lady! I had her for a 3rd grade teacher and she was fabulous! Jane made school a fun and memorable time. Every day she greeted you with a smile and good morning. She made it easy to want to come to school. Mrs. Buell even let one of her students teach her the chicken dance!! You know it left an impact on me if I can remember all the way back to 1978!!!! Lol
Mrs. Buell also loved her community. She was in charge of ladies volleyball for many years. Another enjoyable night because Jane was in charge.
I am blessed that I had just a little piece of her in my life. She definitely made an impact along with helping to make memories. Mrs. Buell, thank you for all you did with all your love and support for your students. You will be missed my friend.

It is with a very heavy heart that I send sincere sympathy to Les and his family. Jane was such a dynamic lady and good friend with a sense of humor that made her shine. Working with Jane at NYSRTA was a pleasure and an honor. Jane's fight with Listeria was a valiant one and as determined as anyone who knew her would have expected. Jane was an amazing person and so full of adventure and life. She is leaving behind not only a loving husband and family but many that love her and wish her rest in the arms of our Lord. She and Dorothy are together again in Paradise. Rest in peace until we meet again sweet Sara Jane!

Jane was a special friend who shared her love of life with us as she became a reenactor and dressed in period clothing to portray a special time in history. She always was ready to "give it a to" and her wonderful spirit and gentle smile made her a friend to many. We miss her and want her family to know what courage they have all shown over these past years. Our prayers for comfort and peace to you all.

Message from Phil and Jayne [B.J.] Schrank

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Les and family at this time. I will always treasure my memories of Janie who was a friend, roommate, and fellow teacher during my teaching tenure in Williamson. That friendship continued for well over fifty years. Janie's mere presence would light up a room upon her entrance; she was so full of fun, laughter, and life! With the illness that she and Les so bravely and courageously fought, she once again proved her determination to overcome insurmountable obstacles. We will miss you, Janie, but now you are free of the confines of your illness and can dance among the angels in God's kingdom.

Our most heartfelt condolences to Les and family during this time. Having Janie as a friend, roommate, and fellow teacher during my days teaching in Williamson made the experience not only enjoyable, but began a friendship that lasted well over fifty years. She was a person so full of life that when she stepped into a room, it lit up merely by her presence. Though the past years brought an illness to her, she and her family fought bravely and courageously to overcome the ravages of listeria and its effects on her body. Janie, you will be missed by many, but you're now free of the confines your illness brought you. May you dance among the angels as God welcomes you into his kingdom.
