Douglas W. Wischoff

 

Newark:  Entered into rest on February 21, 2017 at age 83.

Doug proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a long time member of the V.F.W. 2883 Arcadia Memorial Post and past Commander of the American Legion August Mauer, NY Post 286.  He retired after many years from New York Telephone Company as a Certified Energy Manager.  He enjoyed traveling and gardening with his wife.

Survived by his loving wife, Judy; children: Douglas (Lisa) Wischoff, Theresa (Miguel) Arango, and Laura Snyder; stepchildren: Kevin (Donna) Schroth and Robin (Craig) Celso; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother: Charles (Betty) Wischoff; sister in law: Joyce Fleck; many extended family members and friends.

Predeceased by stepson: N. Michael Schroth; and mother of his children: Catherine Wischoff.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on (Saturday) March 4, 2017 at 3pm at the Park Presbyterian Church in Newark, NY. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
